Monk

Today in class we watched a TV show called monk, which had most of the elements of the mystery, there was a crime which was the murder of Angeline's Uncle. The investigator was Monk and his colleagues. The criminal was Angeline for killing her uncle. There was no alibi in this mystery, the victim was Angeline's uncle. The suspect was the shopkeeper but it wasn't him. There was some suspense at the end of the episode. The red herring was the two other deaths that happened, Monk thought that the people are getting killed by the same murderer. There was no witnesses. The evidence was the medicine bottles and the voodoo doll. A clue was that Angeline was at all the deaths. The ivestigation was there done by Monk and the police. The suprise ending was that Angeline was the killer.

Plastiki

The Plastiki is a 60 foot boat made out of 1250 plastic bottles. This boat is supposed to be sailed from San Francisco to Sydney, that is a long journey, and the whole reason for this is to show people that plastic bottles do not go to waste, you can use them somewhere else, and you can do something else with them. Each of those bottles is filled with gas to help the boat sail. It is a very high tech boat. David De Rothschild came up with the plan, and he wanted to show everyone the reason of collecting plastic bottles. There will be six people on the boat sailing, including De Rothschild.

My Personal Narrative

The Match Where I Hurt My Ear

I hear a blast, and pain shoots up my ear. I fall, and then get up. I feel a little un-easy, like I’m about to puke. People are glancing at my ear strangely, and I ask them what happened, they wouldn’t answer, and I continue my game.
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! The bell rings, I get out of drama class, and hurry down the stairs. I’m running to Q2, my class where my cubby is, and I run to the soccer pitch. I see the game has already started, and my team has the ball, one guy on my team scores. And everyone is cheering and running after him, and then I see that the other teams’ goalie has kicked the ball and is high in the air. The ball lands right at See Won’s feet, (See Won is a guy on the other team) and he is running right toward me. This is my chance I think, I can get the ball now. I run toward See Won, but before I tell you what happens let me tell you this, running toward him was a big blunder. He kicks the ball and it hits me right in the ear impacting like a ball of fire. The bell rings again and I go to math class, where I have to do algebra. The teacher is writing stuff on the board about the algebraic equations, but I can’t bear the throbbing pain in my ear. Has something gone wrong? I think, because I have gotten hit by balls in the ear a billion times but it never hurt this much. I interrupt her lesson and ask if I could have a nurse pass. She lets me go. The nurse says it isn’t a big problem, and I will be fine in days. She gives me some ice to put on. I go back to class. And the bell rings right then, it’s time to go home. I reach home and my mom isn’t there, I ask my maid where she is, but she says she is at the mall. That means I’m alone at home. I do some studying and the bell rings. I run to get it and it is my big brother, I tell him about the damage, and he says it will be fine. My mom comes later on and gives me a pain killer pill, I swallow it and I go to bed. When I put my head on the pillow, my ear burns! I have to sleep straight! But I eventually fall asleep. Next morning my ear is black, I ask my mom and she says it will peel after a while.
Epilogue

My ear is OK now, it doesn’t hurt but it is still black, I am happy I am OK now and I will try to continue my like without getting hurt like this again!

Characterization of Grubbs Grady (character)

This book is called Lord Loss by Darren Shan. It is about a boy named Grubbs Grady, he has orange hair and he is very big and buff, he is a strong but sometimes he is a coward, he is scared of demons and he is scared of Lord Loss. His parents were killed by demons so he kind of has a reason.
On page 93 it sais "Thats not human" says Grubbs
"I think it is-or was, I cant be sure, but I compared it to the it to a drawing of Abraham Garadex- one of Bart's sons- and I's swear they're one and the sam" Billy says. Garadex's are also Grady's, Garadex just got shortened. That means that the people in the Grady family are turning into werewolves, and Grubbs is scared that tham might happen to him.

Grubbs did not really care about his parents before they died, but now he says that if he could have a wish, he would only wish that he could bring his family back to life, this means that he actually cares about his family now, his parents dieing really made a difference to what he cares about.

Grubbs lives in a place called Carcery Vale (pronounced car-sherry vale), because it says on page 88, "there's an incinerator on the far side of Carcery Vale, Dervish has a key to it. He takes corpses there and burns them when nobody is around". He lives in a big L-shaped house, which has like 10 bedrooms and a 60' flat screen TV in the living room. He likes the house.

Grubbs had been told that most of the family members had been killed by demons, now he has to protect himself. Overall Grubbs is a nice person, but is scared of many things, Darren Shan has done a very good job of bringing Grubbs alive.

Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl, 13 September 1916 – 23 November 1990, he was 74 when he died, at a time he had become one of the worlds favorite author. Some of his books the Fantastic Mr. Fox, The BFG, The Twits, Matilda and James and The Giant Peach. To me, he was a great author. Roald Dahl went through World War II, Dahl had become an officer in the Kings African Rifles. In 1939 he joined the Royal Airforce, after a 600 mile car journey in Africa from Dar-es-Salaam to Nairobi he had flight training with 20 other people. And he was only 1 of three out of the 20 that survived the war. Dahl enjoyed watching the animals and wildlife of Kenya during his flights. He continued his flight training in Baghdad, Iraq. Dahl was made a pilot officer.

Dahl first published work was called "Shot Down Over Libya", that was the book that started his career as an author. Its title was inspired by a highly inaccurate article about the crash that blinded him, which said he had been shot down instead of having to land because of low fuel. His first childrens book was called the Gremlins, it was published in 1943. And then Dahl went on making some of the best childrens books of the 20th century such as Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Matilda and James and the Giant Peach. Unfortunately he died in 1990 because of a rare blood disease and could never make a book again. But the kids in the world still read his books, and always will, Roald Dahl is a great author. links- www.wikipedia.org
